Behind the SCENES WITH Boho Blooms.

Type of Photoshoot :

Image retouching services.

Assignment :

Covid-19 has changed the world and the way we can interact. It was wonderful this month to receive a image retouching request from return client – Boho Blooms.

Hello Myra,
Hope you are doing well and staying safe.
I am not sure if you remember my husband and I. We came in to do photo’s for my roses business which turned out so beautiful.
I am adding new rose colours to my website and I wanted to see if you were available to photoshop the new colours onto the same website photos you did for us previously.

Boho Blooms.

Boho Blooms have included new colours in their product range just in time for Mother’s Day and this is the perfect assignment for COVID-19 lockdown.

Highlight :

I first collaborated with Boho Blooms in July 2019 as they were about to launch their new business and website. At the time we had limited samples of the product range and a large portion of the assignment was deep etching and retouching a selection os images and converting the colours to the full product range that would be available on launch. To be honest, the retouching work was some of the most difficult and complex that I have done – the dried roses are presented in transparent boxes with 9, 25 or 26 roses in a box. The project required 12 images per colour.

For this project, Boho Blooms supplied reference images to use for the colour manipulation work. Fortunately I still had all the original deep-etching files to use as my base images.

Tips for clients with similar requirements
  • A great question to ask a photographer before hiring is “how long do they keep your files for”. You never know when you may have to go back to original images for further work.
  • Colour manipulation is one way to have your product range updated as you add new colour options to your product offering. Note that colour manipulation can be a complex and time consuming task depending on the nature of your product. Some colours are easier to manipulate than others depending on the base image that is being used.

Across our various service platforms we have collected over 300 customer reviews with a 4.95 star rating average.
